Turkey: Economic sentiment improves in August
Latest reading: Economic sentiment increased to 100.1 in August, following July’s 99.2. The latest reading was above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
In August, sentiment improved in the industrial sector (+0.3 vs -1.1 in July), the retail sector (+12.5 vs +12.1 in July) and among consumers (-9.3 vs -10.6 in July). In contrast, sentiment darkened in the construction sector (-17.6 vs -16.0 in July) and the services sector (+20.4 vs +20.7 in July).
