Romania: Inflation eases in July from the prior month
Latest reading: Consumer prices increased 8.2% on a year-on-year basis in July, following a 10.4% rise in the prior month. July’s reading was the weakest since July 2025.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, there were reduced price pressures for food (+5.0% on a year-on-year basis vs +5.8% in June) and non-food goods (+7.9% vs +12.3% in June). Finally, the change in services prices was the same as in the prior month (+13.7% in July and June).
Lastly, consumer prices increased 0.58% in July in month-on-month terms, following a 0.06% increase in the prior month.
