Poland: Retail sales slow in July
Latest reading: Retail sales increased 4.1% on a year-on-year basis in July, following a 6.4% increase in the previous month.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, readings in July softened for motor vehicles, motorcycles and parts (+8.1% in annual terms vs +9.6% in June), textiles, clothing and footwear (-1.7% vs +3.3% in June), furniture, radio, TV and household appliances (+8.8% vs +14.8% in June), food, beverages and tobacco (+1.5% vs +1.7% in June) and fuel (-0.2% vs +9.0% in June).
On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, retail sales were down 0.3% in July, following 1.7% growth in the prior month.
