Indonesia: Merchandise trade returns to a surplus in June
Latest reading: In June, the trade balance was USD +0.9 billion, following a USD -0.7 billion reading in the previous month. Over the last 12 months, the trade balance summed to USD +35.8 billion.
Merchandise exports were up 8.8% in year-on-year terms in June, following a 4.8% fall in the previous month. Merchandise imports were up 31.1% in annual terms in June, coming on the back of 23.5% growth in the previous month. June’s reading was the strongest since July 2022.
