Peru: Inflation rises in September
Consumer prices in Metropolitan Lima increased 0.19% month-on-month in September, from August’s 0.13% rise. September’s increase was largely the result of higher prices for food and beverages, as well as for furniture and home maintenance.
Meanwhile, inflation increased to 1.3% in September from 1.1% in August. In September, core consumer prices, which exclude energy and food prices, increased 0.1% from the previous month, matching August’s rise. Finally, core inflation was stable at August’s 2.4% in September.
