Peru: Inflation comes in at highest level since February 2009 in August
Consumer prices rose 0.98% over the previous month in August, a smaller increase than the 1.01% increase logged in July.
Inflation came in at 5.0% in August, up from July’s 3.8%. August’s figure represented the highest inflation rate since February 2009. Annual average inflation rose to 2.7% in August (July: 2.4%). Lastly, core inflation rose to 2.6% in August, from the previous month’s 2.3%.
