Peru: Consumer confidence dives in August
The consumer confidence indicator published by GfK fell to 90 points in August from 95 points in July. The index therefore moved further below the critical 100-point threshold that separates pessimism from optimism among Peruvian consumers.
August’s worsening came on the back of a broad-based deterioration in consumer sentiment across the country: lower consumer confidence was recorded in the in the capital; northern regions; southern and eastern regions. Meanwhile, sentiment ticked up in the central regions of the Andean country.
