Norway: Industrial production returns to growth in June
Latest reading: Industrial production rose 7.6% in seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms in June, following a 0.9% drop in the previous month. June’s reading was the strongest since October 2024.
Relative to the previous month’s data, the reading for extraction and related services—which account for nearly 75% of industrial output in Norway—improved in June (+10.2% on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis vs -2.4% in May). In contrast, readings softened for manufacturing (-1.0% vs +0.8% in May) and electricity, gas and steam (+2.7% vs +13.8% in May).
On a working-day adjusted year-on-year basis, industrial production was up 9.1% in June, following a 0.5% increase in the previous month.
