Netherlands: Industrial production shrinks in April
Latest reading: Industrial production—excluding construction—declined 0.4% in calendar and seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms in April, following 1.6% growth in the prior month.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, readings in April worsened for manufacturing (+1.3% on a calendar and seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis vs +2.8% in March) and mining and quarrying (-5.4% vs -0.6% in March). In contrast, the reading for water collection and distribution improved in April (+6.0% vs +1.6% in March).
On a calendar-working-day and seasonally adjusted year-on-year basis, industrial production—excluding construction—increased 1.9% in April, following a 1.2% increase in the prior month.
