Malaysia: Industrial production slows in June
Latest reading: Industrial production increased 6.5% on a year-on-year basis in June, following a 8.5% rise in the prior month.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, the reading for mining and quarrying worsened in June (+3.1% on a year-on-year basis vs +19.8% in May). In contrast, readings picked up for manufacturing (+7.3% vs +6.6% in May) and electricity and gas (+6.7% vs +4.8% in May).
On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, industrial production declined 0.5% in June, following a 0.3% fall in the previous month.
