Lithuania: Industrial production contracts in May
Latest reading: Industrial production declined 1.6% in annual terms in May, following a 7.5% increase in the prior month. May’s reading was the weakest since August 2025.
Relative to the previous month’s data, readings in May softened for manufacturing (-1.2% in annual terms vs +8.2% in April), mining and quarrying (+1.7% vs +8.3% in April) and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning (-9.5% vs -4.4% in April).
In seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms, industrial production fell 2.9% in May, following a 1.8% drop in the prior month.
