Lithuania: Growth slows to one-year low in Q3
According to preliminary national accounts data released by Lithuania’s Statistical Institute on 30 October, GDP rose 3.6% in year-on-year terms in the third quarter, down from the second quarter’s 3.8% expansion and marking the softest expansion since Q3 2018. The result reflected both slowing industrial output and softer retails sales growth, thus hinting at a broad-based deceleration.
On a quarter-on-quarter basis, the slowdown was more considerable: Growth dived to 0.1% in seasonally-adjusted terms in Q3, from the 0.9% expansion recorded in the second quarter.
