Japan: Industrial production rebounds in April
Latest reading: Industrial production was up 0.8% in seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms in April, following a 0.4% drop in the previous month.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, the reading for manufacturing improved in April (+0.6% on a month-on-month basis vs -0.3% in March). In contrast, the reading for mining softened in April (-2.0% vs +0.8% in March).
In annual terms, industrial production increased 2.3% in April, following 2.4% growth in the previous month.
