Italy: Inflation slows in June from May
Latest reading: Harmonized consumer prices rose 3.0% in annual terms in June, following a 3.2% increase in the prior month.
Relative to the previous month’s data, there were reduced price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+1.8% on a year-on-year basis vs +2.5% in May), transportation (+4.7% vs +5.5% in May), recreation (+1.3% vs +1.4% in May) and restaurants and hotels (+2.8% vs +3.4% in May). In contrast, price pressures were higher for housing and utilities in June (+7.3% vs +5.8% in May).
Meanwhile, consumer prices increased 3.0% on a year-on-year basis in June, following a 3.2% increase in the previous month.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices were stable in June on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.29% increase in the prior month.
