Luxembourg: Inflation eases in June from May
Latest reading: Harmonized consumer prices rose 3.7% in annual terms in June, following a 4.5% increase in the prior month.
Relative to the previous month’s data, there were reduced price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+1.3% on a year-on-year basis vs +1.9% in May), transportation (+9.9% vs +14.8% in May), housing and utilities (+2.6% vs +3.3% in May) and recreation (+3.0% vs +3.2% in May). In contrast, price pressures were higher for restaurants and hotels in June (+3.8% vs +3.4% in May).
Meanwhile, consumer prices rose 2.2% on a year-on-year basis in June, following a 2.3% rise in the previous month.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices fell 0.47% in June on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.21% decline in the prior month.
