Hungary: Economic sentiment picks up in November
Economic sentiment came in at 95.7 in November, up from October’s 92.7. As a result, the index remained below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected healthier sentiment in the industrial and services sectors. Meanwhile, confidence in the construction sector weakened in November, as did sentiment in the retail sector. Finally, consumer confidence was up in November.
Relating to indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations improved, while the economic uncertainty index increased in November.
