Greece: Harmonized inflation remains stable in August
Harmonized inflation came in at 3.5% in August, unchanged from July’s figure. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages grew at a weaker pace, and housing and utilities prices declined at a sharper rate. However, prices for transportation rebounded.
Annual average harmonized inflation fell to 6.2% in August (July: 6.8%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation rose to 2.7% in August, from the previous month’s 2.5%.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices fell 0.19% in August over the previous month, a more moderate drop than July’s 0.98% fall.
