Slovakia: Harmonized inflation falls to over one-year low in August
Harmonized inflation fell to 9.6% in August from July’s 10.3%. August’s figure represented the weakest inflation rate since March 2022. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages grew at a slower pace in August, while prices for transportation rebounded.
Accordingly, the trend pointed down, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at 13.4% in August (July: 13.7%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation fell to 8.9% in August, from July’s 9.7%.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices increased 0.09% from the previous month in August, contrasting July’s 0.24% fall.
