Greece: Economic sentiment falls in August
Latest reading: Economic sentiment went down to 106.9 in August, following July’s 107.5. The latest reading was above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
In August, sentiment worsened in the services sector (+25.7 vs +31.3 in July) and the retail sector (+15.4 vs +16.7 in July). However, sentiment turned more upbeat in the industrial sector (+3.7 vs +2.8 in July), the construction sector (+29.7 vs +28.2 in July) and among consumers (-43.6 vs -47.8 in July).
