Slovakia: Economic sentiment worsens in August
Latest reading: Economic sentiment dropped to 90.7 in August, following July’s 95.9. The latest reading was below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy and the lowest since October 2025.
In August, sentiment darkened in the industrial sector (-13.0 vs +1.4 in July) and the construction sector (-7.7 vs -7.4 in July). On the flipside, sentiment brightened in the services sector (+11.4 vs +5.0 in July), the retail sector (+2.6 vs +2.3 in July) and among consumers (-20.9 vs -21.7 in July).
