Germany: Merchandise trade surplus widens in May
Latest reading: In May, the trade balance was EUR +19.1 billion, following a EUR +14.7 billion figure in the previous month. Over the last 12 months, the trade balance summed to EUR +203.4 billion.
Merchandise exports were up 0.9% in seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms in May, coming on the back of a 0.8% rise in the previous month. Merchandise imports were down 2.5% in seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms in May, coming on the back of 1.1% growth in the previous month.
