Germany: Economic sentiment rises in June
Latest reading: Economic sentiment went up to 91.5 in June, following May’s 89.8. The latest reading was below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
In June, sentiment improved in the industrial sector (-13.5 vs -15.6 in May), the services sector (+2.2 vs +1.8 in May), the retail sector (-29.8 vs -31.4 in May) and among consumers (-14.6 vs -16.0 in May). However, sentiment darkened in the construction sector (-14.3 vs -13.3 in May).
