France: Economic sentiment declines in June
Latest reading: Economic sentiment fell to 92.5 in June, following May’s 92.7. The latest reading was below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
In June, sentiment darkened in the industrial sector (-7.8 vs -6.7 in May), the construction sector (-18.2 vs -17.3 in May), the services sector (-5.6 vs -5.5 in May) and the retail sector (-17.4 vs -16.2 in May). In contrast, sentiment turned more upbeat in among consumers (-19.3 vs -21.1 in May).
