Finland: Economic sentiment increases in May
Latest reading: Economic sentiment rose to 98.0 in May, following April’s 94.4. The latest reading was below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy but the highest since September 2025.
In May, sentiment improved in the industrial sector (+4.5 vs +2.2 in April), the services sector (+3.0 vs +0.6 in April) and among consumers (-10.7 vs -12.7 in April). In contrast, sentiment darkened in the construction sector (-19.8 vs -18.5 in April) and the retail sector (+9.2 vs +11.9 in April).
