Euro Area: Economic sentiment improves in June
Latest reading: Economic sentiment rose to 95.0 in June, following May’s 93.7. The latest reading was below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
In June, sentiment brightened in the industrial sector (-7.7 vs -7.9 in May), the services sector (+3.2 vs +2.6 in May), the retail sector (-9.7 vs -10.9 in May) and among consumers (-17.7 vs -19.0 in May). In contrast, sentiment darkened in the construction sector (-4.5 vs -3.9 in May).
