Dominican Republic: Economic activity expands at quickest pace in five months in May
Economic activity increased 2.4% compared to the same month a year earlier in May, which was above April’s 0.3% increase. May’s print marked the best reading since December 2022.
Still, the trend pointed down, with the annual average growth of economic activity coming in at 3.1%, down from April’s 3.3%.
Lastly, on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, activity expanded 1.7% in May, swinging from the prior month’s 0.3% contraction. May’s result marked the steepest increase in three months amid strengthening underlying momentum.
