Chile: Business confidence falls to six-month low in June
Business confidence fell to 39.5 in June from May’s 41.4. June’s result marked the weakest sentiment since December 2022. As such, the index remained below the 50-point threshold, pointing to worsening sentiment among businesses.
June’s reading was driven by weakening sentiment in the mining and construction sectors. In contrast, confidence in the industrial and retail sectors picked up. Taken together, average business confidence readings in Q2 point to soft private investment in the quarter.
