Denmark: Inflation falls to lowest level since May 2022 in February
Inflation came in at 7.6% in February, marginally down from January’s 7.7%. February’s figure represented the lowest inflation rate since May 2022. Looking at the details of the release, February’s moderation was chiefly due to price pressures for transportation easing. This more than offset food and non-alcoholic beverages prices rising at a quicker pace in February compared to the previous month.
However, the trend pointed up slightly, with annual average inflation coming in at 8.2% in February (January: 8.0%). Meanwhile, core inflation ticked up to 6.7% in February, from January’s 6.6%.
Finally, consumer prices increased a seasonally adjusted 0.95% in February over the previous month, accelerating from January’s 0.43% rise. February’s result marked the highest reading since October 2022.
