Czech Republic: Inflation accelerates in July from the prior month
Latest reading: Consumer prices were up 1.7% in annual terms in July, following a 1.5% increase in the previous month.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, there were higher price pressures for housing and utilities (+1.6% in annual terms vs +1.3% in June) and transportation (+6.6% vs +5.7% in June). In contrast, there were reduced price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+3.7% vs +4.3% in June) and recreation and culture (+0.9% vs +2.7% in June).
Lastly, consumer prices increased 0.59% in July in month-on-month terms, following a 0.29% fall in the previous month.
