Cyprus: Inflation rises in June from May
Latest reading: Harmonized consumer prices were up 4.1% in annual terms in June, following a 3.5% increase in the previous month. June’s reading was the strongest since September 2023.
Relative to the previous month’s data, there were higher price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+4.8% in annual terms vs +3.2% in May), housing and utilities (+4.6% vs +2.9% in May), recreation (+9.7% vs +7.8% in May) and restaurants and hotels (+8.9% vs +7.7% in May). In contrast, price pressures reduced for transportation in June (+7.6% vs +9.7% in May).
Meanwhile, consumer prices increased 3.1% in June, following a 2.5% rise in the previous month.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices increased 0.94% in June on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.75% increase in the previous month.
