Greece: Inflation eases in June from the prior month
Latest reading: Harmonized consumer prices were up 3.9% in annual terms in June, following a 4.9% rise in the previous month.
Relative to the prior month’s data, there were milder price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+2.7% on a year-on-year basis vs +3.2% in May), transportation (+4.8% vs +7.7% in May), housing and utilities (+10.5% vs +11.5% in May) and restaurants and hotels (+6.4% vs +9.1% in May). In contrast, price pressures were higher for recreation in June (+4.0% vs +2.9% in May).
Meanwhile, consumer prices were up 4.4% in annual terms in June, following a 5.2% increase in the prior month.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices rose 0.30% in June in month-on-month terms, following a 0.63% rise in the previous month.
