Colombia: Inflation slows in July from June
Latest reading: Consumer prices rose 6.0% on a year-on-year basis in July, following a 6.1% rise in the prior month.
Relative to the prior month’s data, there were reduced price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+5.8% in annual terms vs +6.8% in June) and restaurants and hotels (+9.5% vs +9.6% in June). In contrast, price pressures were higher for housing and utilities in July (+5.4% vs +5.0% in June).
Meanwhile, core consumer prices increased 6.5% on a year-on-year basis in July, stable from the previous month’s reading.
Lastly, consumer prices rose 0.16% in July in month-on-month terms, following a 0.39% increase in the prior month.
