Colombia: Economic activity growth picks up pace in January
Economic activity increased 5.8% compared to the same month of the previous year in January, which was above December’s 1.2% increase. The reading reflected a broad-based improvement, with activity in the agriculture, industrial and services sub-sectors all improving in January.
On a monthly basis, economic activity increased 2.6% in seasonally adjusted terms in January, significantly above December’s 0.3% expansion and marking the best result since September 2021. Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average growth of economic activity coming in at 7.0% in January, down from December’s 7.2%.
