Latest reading: Economic sentiment went down to 95.0 in June, following May’s 95.6. The latest reading was below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
In June, sentiment darkened in the industrial sector (-5.2 vs -2.3 in May), the construction sector (-11.3 vs -3.8 in May) and among consumers (-26.4 vs -26.3 in May). However, sentiment improved in the services sector (+6.8 vs +2.8 in May) and the retail sector (+11.0 vs +8.4 in May).
