Brazil: Consumer confidence drops in June
Latest reading: The seasonally adjusted consumer confidence index published by the Getulio Vargas Foundation (Fundação Getúlio Vargas) went down to 88.7 in June, following May’s 88.8. The latest reading was below the threshold of 100 that separates optimistic from pessimistic sentiment.
In June, households grew less optimistic about the economy in the coming months (+90.4 vs +91.3 in May), yet more optimistic about their current situation (+87.0 vs +86.1 in May).
