Belgium: Economic sentiment picks up in June
Latest reading: Economic sentiment rose to 91.1 in June, following May’s 89.5. The latest reading was below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
In June, sentiment brightened in the construction sector (-9.6 vs -13.3 in May), the services sector (+0.8 vs -1.5 in May), the retail sector (-3.8 vs -15.5 in May) and among consumers (-16.8 vs -20.0 in May). In contrast, sentiment darkened in the industrial sector (-13.4 vs -11.1 in May).
