Brazil: Business confidence drops in August
Latest reading: The seasonally adjusted industrial business confidence index published by the Getulio Vargas Foundation (Fundação Getúlio Vargas) went down to 93.7 in August, following July’s 97.2. The latest reading was below the threshold of 100 that separates optimistic from pessimistic sentiment and the lowest since December 2025.
In August, businesses grew less positive about expectations for the coming months (+92.6 vs +94.6 in July) and the current situation (+94.9 vs +99.9 in July).
