Belarus: Inflation rises in July from the prior month
Latest reading: Consumer prices rose 4.4% on a year-on-year basis in July, following a 4.3% rise in the previous month.
Relative to the prior month’s data, there were higher price pressures for transportation (+5.3% on a year-on-year basis vs +4.7% in June) and clothing (+2.9% vs +1.8% in June). In contrast, price pressures reduced for food and non-alcoholic beverages in July (+2.3% vs +2.7% in June). Finally, the change in housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels prices was the same as in the prior month (+10.3% in July and June).
Lastly, consumer prices increased 0.30% in July on a month-on-month basis, unchanged from the prior month’s reading.
