Austria: Economic sentiment worsens in June
Latest reading: Economic sentiment dropped to 87.3 in June, following May’s 90.2. The latest reading was below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy and the lowest since December 2024.
In June, sentiment worsened in the industrial sector (-14.6 vs -12.1 in May), the services sector (-2.7 vs +0.5 in May), the retail sector (-15.2 vs -8.3 in May) and among consumers (-20.8 vs -20.3 in May). However, sentiment brightened in the construction sector (-21.7 vs -23.7 in May).
