Argentina: Economic activity slows in April
Latest reading: Economic activity increased 1.6% on a year-on-year basis in April, following a 6.2% rise in the previous month.
Relative to the prior month’s data, readings in April worsened for agriculture (+10.9% on a year-on-year basis vs +19.5% in March), manufacturing (-2.9% vs +5.2% in March), construction (-1.8% vs +8.3% in March), transport and communications (+2.0% vs +5.0% in March) and hotels and restaurants (0.0% vs +2.8% in March).
On a month-on-month basis, economic activity fell 1.5% in April, following a 3.1% rise in the previous month.
