Argentina: Consumer confidence falls to five-month low in November
The Universidad Torcuato di Tella (UTDT) consumer confidence index fell to 41.4 in November from 43.8 in October. Therefore, the index moved further below the 50-threshold that separates optimism from pessimism among consumers, where it has been for two years.
November’s print reflected a broad-based deterioration in consumers’ short-term outlook. Consumer’s expectations on the broader macroeconomic situation declined considerably. Moreover, households’ assessment over their personal financial situation got gloomier, and their willingness to purchase big-ticket household items also decreased.
