Vietnam: Inflation recedes in August
Consumer prices rose 0.00% from the previous month in August, coming in below July’s 0.40% increase. August’s result marked the lowest reading since December 2021. August’s figure was largely due to softer growth in prices for food. In addition, price pressures for transportation declined at a quicker rate.
In turn, inflation came in at 2.9% in August, which was down from July’s 3.1%. August’s result marked the lowest inflation rate since May. Meanwhile, annual average inflation remained at July’s 2.4% in August.
