Vietnam: Inflation decelerates in June from May
Latest reading: Consumer prices rose 4.7% in annual terms in June, following a 5.6% rise in the prior month.
Relative to the prior month’s data, there were milder price pressures for food (+3.8% in annual terms vs +3.9% in May), transportation (+3.4% vs +10.5% in May) and housing and construction materials (+5.9% vs +6.9% in May). Finally, the variation in education prices was the same as in the prior month (+10.1% in June and May).
Lastly, consumer prices fell 0.39% in June on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.29% increase in the previous month.
