United States: Consumer confidence rises notably in June
Consumer confidence came in at 127.3 in June, up from May’s 120.0. Consequently, the index moved further above the 100-threshold, indicating healthy optimism among consumers.
The increase came on the back of a rise in consumers’ short-term outlook for income, business and labor market conditions. Similarly, consumers’ assessment of current labor market and economic conditions also improved, supporting the overall jump in confidence levels.
