United Kingdom: Consumer confidence improves in February

Consumer confidence rose to minus 38.0 in February from minus 45.0 in January, marking the highest reading in 10 months. Despite the uptick, the index remained below the 0-point threshold, pointing to depressed sentiment among consumers.

February’s reading was driven by stronger sentiment regarding consumers’ financial situation and the general economic situation, as well as an improved willingness to buy.
