Ukraine: Inflation hits highest level since August 2019 in March
Consumer prices rose 4.50% in March over the previous month, accelerating from February’s 1.59% increase. March’s reading was the sharpest increase in prices since April 2015. Looking at the details of the release, the increase was chiefly driven by higher prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages, and clothing and footwear.
Inflation jumped to 13.7% in March, following February’s 10.7%. March’s result represented the highest inflation rate since February 2017. Annual average inflation rose to 10.4% in March (February: 9.9%). Core inflation soared to 10.5% from the previous month’s 8.2%.
