Ukraine: Inflation falls to new over three-year low in October
Consumer prices rose 0.7% month-on-month in October, which matched September’s increase. According to the Statistical Institute, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages rose at a faster rate in October; however, were largely balanced out by a sharper fall in prices for transport and housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels.
Inflation fell to 6.5% in October, from 7.5% in September and marking the lowest reading since June 2016. Accordingly, inflation is at the Central Bank’s 6.5% target. Meanwhile, annual average inflation dropped from September’s 9.1% to 8.8%.
