Ukraine: Inflation falls to near six-year low in January
Consumer prices rose 0.2% month-on-month in January, contrasting December’s 0.2% fall. According to the Statistical Institute, prices for housing and utilities saw the sharpest increase in the month, while prices for clothing and footwear saw the sharpest fall.
Inflation fell to 3.2%, from 4.1% in December and marked the lowest reading since February 2014. Accordingly, inflation fell further below the Central Bank’s medium-term 5.0% target. Meanwhile, annual average inflation declined to 7.4% from December’s 7.9%.
