Turkey: Industrial activity contracts in September
Industrial output declined 0.1% in month-on-month seasonally adjusted terms in September, which was above August’s 0.7% decrease. September’s softer drop was largely due to a rebound in manufacturing output. In addition, mining and quarrying production improved.
On an annual basis, industrial production rose 4.0% in September, which was better than August’s 3.1% expansion. Meanwhile, annual average industrial production growth rose to 1.0% in September (August: +0.8%), signaling an improving trend in the industrial sector.
