Thailand: Merchandise trade deficit widens in June
Latest reading: In June, the trade balance was USD -2.7 billion, following a USD -2.6 billion figure in the previous month. Over the last 12 months, the trade balance summed to USD -3.0 billion.
Merchandise exports were up 21.0% in year-on-year terms in June, following 10.0% growth in the prior month. Meanwhile, merchandise imports rose 48.9% in annual terms in June, coming on the back of a 34.6% rise in the prior month. June’s reading was the strongest since May 2021.
